Abela Airline Catering

Wings4u2fly has had an amazing impact on the motivation and confidence within our management teams throughout the UK…Our business has gone from strength to strength …incredible change in extremely short time-scales...."

When we came across Abela they were an international privately owned company with over 30,000 employees worldwide in 40 countries and with annual sales exceeding $1billion dollars.

The UK senior management team were beset with problems, infighting, politics, logistical problems, you name it. There was a lot of distrust and frustration in a blame culture. A real nightmare.

Then in May 2001 Wings4u2fly took the entire UK senior management team through a two-day “Stop The World” experience. We empowered the leaders with a unique business and human model to permanently shift their attitudes and behaviours.

Here's what happened:

  • Stopped fire fighting.

  • Listened without defence and confrontation.

  • Sickness went down.

  • Retention went up.

  • Moved from a projected £2½million loss to £½million profit in just 3 months.

  • Achieved more in 6 months than in the last 30 months prior to Wings4u2fly

  • Customers and suppliers were thrilled. They had never seen such a dramatic change in a company before.

An incredible FIVE-FOLD increase in effectiveness!.

In March 2002 Abela met the stringent requirements for both ISO2020 and ISO9001 thus becoming the first airline caterer IN THE WORLD to hold both certifications. In July 2002 The Observer newspaper published a long complimentary article. Then in Dec 2002 Abela scooped the Excel award for Excellence in recognition of high standards of service at Gatwick airport.

In short, the turnaround was nothing short of a miracle.
